DerKanal services
All services are available to private households, property and building management companies, commercial and industrial customers, as well as municipalities and public institutions.
Cleaning and blockages
- Pipe cleaning and sewer cleaning: clearing blockages in drains, pipes and sewers, e.g. with a drain snake or high-pressure jetting.
- Vacuuming work: wet and dry vacuuming, e.g. in flooded basements, excavation pits, manholes and separators.
- Separator cleaning: emptying, cleaning and maintenance of grease, oil and fuel separators, plus the recurring leak test.
Inspection and analysis
- CCTV sewer inspection: camera inspection of pipes and sewers with a condition report.
- Leak detection: locating leaking pipes, usually without damage, with a report for the insurer.
- Leak testing: testing of sewers, manholes and separators with a test report, e.g. for the occupancy permit of a new building.
Rehabilitation and construction
- Sewer and pipe rehabilitation (CIPP lining): trenchless rehabilitation of damaged pipes from the inside, plus spot repairs and manhole rehabilitation.
- Horizontal directional drilling: trenchless installation of new wastewater pipes with just one launch pit and one target pit.
- Specialized milling: removal of roots, concrete and limescale inside pipes under camera monitoring.
- Sewer defects: new installation using the open-cut method when trenchless rehabilitation is not possible. DerKanal coordinates the earthworks and construction work.
Protection and maintenance
- Backflow protection: protection against water from the sewer during heavy rain, as a certified end-to-end process.
- Maintenance and repair: maintenance plans for owners, property managers and facility managers, e.g. the annual maintenance of the building's sewer system.

- 24/7 emergency service: help with blockages, burst pipes, flooding and backflow.

The prices are non-binding guide prices, as published on the service pages of derkanal.at. The exact price depends on the individual case. Before work begins, the technician on site discusses the approach and the expected effort.

Payment and billing
- Payment is by invoice only. According to the terms and conditions, unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable “net without deduction upon receipt of the invoice”.
- There is no cash or card payment on site. DerKanal does not ask for a deposit.
- Every job is documented for the insurer or property manager. Where possible, DerKanal bills the building insurer or property manager directly.

DerKanal methods and equipment
- Electromechanical drain snake: for pipe diameters from 32 to 400 mm.
- High-pressure jetting: for pipe diameters from 50 to 1,400 mm.
- Vacuum trucks: suction capacity of up to 4,000 m³/h. The combined vacuum and jetting truck “Die Mücke” works with water recycling. ADR-certified equipment is available for hazardous goods.
- CCTV inspection: camera inspection with digital documentation, 3D sewer surveying and CAD sewer plans.
- Milling: remote-controlled milling robots and high-pressure milling.
- Locating: radio sonde technology to trace the course of the sewer.
- Sustainability: a growing electric fleet, power from the company's own PV system, water recycling.
DerKanal standards and certifications
- Leak testing: according to ÖNORM B 2503 and EN 1610. DerKanal is a certified leak testing company. Its test reports are recognized by authorities and insurers.
- CCTV sewer inspections: according to ÖNORM EN 13508, ATV, DWA, ISYBAU and ÖWAV guideline 43.
- Sewer cleaning: according to ÖWAV guideline 34.
- Trenchless sewer rehabilitation: according to ÖWAV guidelines 42 and 28.
- New sewer construction: according to ÖNORM B 2501.
- Maintenance: according to the requirements of the building logbook (ÖNORM B 1300).
- Certified backflow protection: What is certified is not a single product but the entire process: analysis, sealing, installation, function test and maintenance. It was reviewed by an independent body, the Austrian Association of Engineering Consultants (Fachverband der Ingenieurbüros Österreichs). In 2025, DerKanal implemented the first certified backflow protection in the retrofit of an existing residential building.
