Sewer and Pipe Rehabilitation: CIPP Lining without Excavation

Trenchless Pipe Rehabilitation

A defective pipe, leaks, or root intrusion are serious problems that endanger the substance of your building. In the past, pipe rehabilitation often involved a large, messy construction site, but those times are over.

Every successful rehabilitation begins with a precise sewer inspection. Only after a detailed analysis, often using a CCTV sewer inspection, do we plan the best procedure for you. As technological pioneers, we specialize in trenchless CIPP sewer lining. For you, this means: no excavator in the garden, no destructive cutting work, no annoying noise, and no mess.

With this modern process, we efficiently rehabilitate your pipes from the inside. The result is a durable and tight pipeline that provides you with security for decades.

Frequently asked questions about pipe & sewer rehabilitation

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about pipe rehabilitation and sewer rehabilitation.

What is trenchless inline renovation?

Inliner renovation is a modern, trenchless process to repair defective pipes from the inside. This involves inserting a flexible fabric hose impregnated with resin (the “inliner”) into the old pipe and hardening it there. The result is a completely new, statically self-supporting pipe that forms a fixed connection with the old pipe without having to dig up your garden or paths. The goal is the so-called rehabilitation of sections of up to 100 meters in one go in order to extend the overall life of the canal in the long term.

How does inline refurbishment work?

Every renovation starts with a precise channel TV inspection to precisely analyze the damage. Based on this, the old pipe is thoroughly cleaned as preparation. We then introduce the resin-soaked liner, which hardens with heat or UV light to form a new, tight tube in the old pipe. A final TV inspection documents the high quality and success of the renovation for you.

What are the main benefits of inline renovation?

The biggest advantage is that no excavation work is required. Your property remains untouched, which saves you considerable time, costs, noise and dirt. In addition, the new pipe in the pipe is extremely durable and resistant to cracks and root growth. You get a sustainable solution with minimal impact.

How long does an inline renovation last?

A professionally carried out inline repair is an extremely long-lasting solution. The technical life of the new renovated pipe is up to 50 years, depending on the system and load. You are therefore investing in a long-term and sustainable solution that gives you security and peace of mind for decades.

What is the difference between a selective repair and an inline repair?

Selective repair (short liner) is a solution for individual, local damage such as cracks or leaky joints. It is often also an important preparatory measure for inline renovations. During inline renovation (also known as long liner/track rehabilitation), on the other hand, we refurbish entire line sections of up to 100 meters in one go. This creates a completely “new pipe” in conjunction with the old pipe in order to extend the overall life of the sewer in the long term.

How much does sewer rehabilitation with inline skates cost?

The costs of an inline liner renovation depend on several factors, such as the length, diameter and exact condition of the old pipe. As a non-binding guide, the costs usually range from 150€ to 450€ per running meter.

Our principle is absolute transparency: A professional channel TV inspection is always the basis for a precise calculation. Based on this analysis, we will provide you with a clear and detailed offer without hidden costs, so that you know exactly what to expect right from the start.

Will my insurance cover the costs of sewer rehabilitation?

In many cases, yes, especially if there is acute damage covered by buildings insurance (as part of tap water coverage). However, the details of your personal policy are always decisive, which is why we recommend that you check with your insurance company beforehand. We will of course provide you with a transparent and detailed invoice for your submission.

Our pipe and sewer rehabilitation methods in detail

Depending on the damage pattern, pipe condition and efficiency, we select the technologically best and most suitable process for you. Our focus is always on trenchless, minimally invasive techniques. The aim is to minimize the effort and costs for you and at the same time to keep the impact on residents and the environment due to noise, dirt and CO2 emissions as low as possible.

Inliner renovation

Inliner renovation is a trenchless process in which a new, statically self-supporting pipe is created in the old line. This involves inserting a flexible needle felt or fiberglass fabric (inliner) into the pipe and impregnated with 2K epoxy resin during the renovation before it hardens. Any channel junctions are then precisely cut free again with a remote-controlled robot cutter.

Preparing the inline skates

Overview of features:

  • Range of use: Rehabilitation of longer, continuous pipe sections.
  • main advantage: A completely new, tight and durable inner pipe wall without excavation.
  • Technical details: Suitable for pipe diameters of 50 to 400 mm; several dimensional changes possible, branches are milled out after renovation, new wall thickness up to 16 mm.

Selective repair (inner sleeve & hat repair)

Selective repair is a quick and cost-saving process to repair individual cracks, holes or leaks in pipes, ducts and branches. In doing so, our experts place inner sleeves or caps that are precisely adapted to the pipe and the damage pattern from the inside geometric designs one. Since this process is completely trenchless, the surface remains completely unaffected. This targeted repair is often also the ideal preparation for the subsequent complete renovation of basic or fallow lines using inline skates.

Overview of features:

  • Range of use: Targeted repair of individual cracks, holes and leaks in pipes, ducts and branches.
  • main advantage: Extremely fast and cost-saving process, as only the actual damage is repaired.
  • Technical details: Trenchless repair through the use of inner cuffs and hat repairs.

Horizontal drilling

Die horizontal drilling is the most economical method for trenchless new pipes, especially when it is no longer possible to renovate the old pipeline. A new channel is “shot” underground using a special drilling rig without the need to open large areas of gardens, paths or asphalted areas. All that is required is a small start and finish pit.

Overview of features:

  • Range of use: Trenchless reinstallation of pipes when renovation is technically impossible or uneconomical.
  • main advantage: The most economical form of new piping with only minimal surface intervention.
  • Technical details: Suitable for re-laying pipes with a diameter of up to 500 mm.

Shaft rehabilitation

Shaft renovation restores the tightness and stability of sewer shafts using professional concrete and wall repair processes. Sewer shafts often suffer from years of influence of biogenic sulfuric acid as well as environmental influences such as frost and earthmoving. In severe cases where renovation is no longer sufficient, it is also necessary to completely rebuild the shaft.

Overview of features:

  • Range of use: Repair of shafts that are damaged by environmental influences, corrosion or cracks.
  • main advantage: A quick restoration of full functionality and tightness of the shaft.
  • Technical details: Use of professional concrete and wall repair processes; excavation work is only necessary if a new construction is carried out.

Open construction (excavation)

Open construction is the method of rehabilitation that we use when trenchless processes are not technically possible. In this case, too, you benefit from our complete service: Our experts carry out all necessary builder work professionally and in a coordinated manner. This includes the process from excavation to perfect surface restoration.

Overview of features:

  • Range of use: Repair or relocation if trenchless renovation is not possible (e.g. in the event of collapse or severe fall).
  • main advantage: You receive all sewer and builder work from a single source and therefore only have one contact person for the entire project.
  • Technical details: Includes all earthwork and excavation work, pipeline replacement and complete restoration of surfaces.
