On August 29, 2026, Boris Bukowski brings decades of stage energy and cult hits such as Kokain and Fandango to Purkersdorf.
- Start at 7:00 p.m.: The exceptional artist Anna Buchegger opens the evening with her powerful voice and modern dialect sound.
- Main act from 8:00 p.m.: Boris Bukowski & bunte Hunde celebrate Bukowski’s 80th birthday with a legendary show, together with the Austropop icons Thomas Spitzer (EAV) and Ewald Pfleger (Opus).
New sounds: As part of the main program, Der Nino aus Wien, Ernst Molden and LEMO represent the modern Viennese scene and current Austrian pop on stage. With his soulful songs and unmistakable voice, LEMO is one of the most influential voices in Austrian pop music. Anna Buchegger returns as a guest during the main set.

Looking back: Purkersdorf Open Air on June 20, 2026
The kick-off in June was already a huge success, and here is our look back. What an evening! Around 6,500 people joined us on the main square in Purkersdorf to celebrate Georg Danzer, who would have turned 80 this year. Together with Ina Regen, Norbert Schneider and Monika Ballwein, Thomas Stipsits brought the Danzer classics to life in a completely new way.
The surprise of the evening was a spontaneous appearance: Rainhard Fendrich took to the stage as a surprise guest and thrilled the audience even more.
Our DerKanal team was there too and experienced the evening live – a strong start to our first year as main sponsor of the Purkersdorf Open Air.
An event with tradition
The municipality of Purkersdorf has been organizing these open-air concerts on the main square since 2002. The fact that international stars such as Bonnie Tyler and Suzi Quatro have already played here underlines the importance of this concert series. If you can’t be there in person: Radio NÖ will broadcast the evening from around 8:00 p.m., and ORF III will show the concert the same evening, on August 29 from 9:00 p.m. (time-delayed).

What is the best way to get from Vienna to the Purkersdorf Open Air?
The fastest connection from Vienna is by train. From Wien Westbahnhof or Wien Hütteldorf (connection to the U4 subway line), you can reach Purkersdorf Zentrum station in just a few minutes. Since the main square is right next to Purkersdorf Zentrum station, you arrive in the middle of the action without stress and without having to look for a parking space.
Where can I park for the Purkersdorf Open Air?
As the main square is closed during the event, parking is available at the park-and-ride facilities at the train stations and in the surrounding short-term parking zones. Due to the central location, we strongly recommend arriving by train. Paid parking regulations also apply in the town area.
Do the concerts take place when it rains?
Yes, the events generally take place in all weather. We recommend dressing for the current weather so that the concert evening is a success in any case.
How is the event financed if admission is free?
